April

Fairy Glen, Betws-y-Coed, a gorge on the Conwy River. It's off the A470, near the intersection with the A5. There is a car park (£1) next to the Fairy Glen Hotel,  LL24 0SH. 10 minutes walk to get to Fairy Glen itself. A little clambering over rocks will get you into the best spot. Best mid April, mid morning. http://flic.kr/p/bz8bTY

May

British Superbikes. First bank holiday weekend in May, British Superbikes at Oulton Park. Saturday of the bank holiday weekend is practice day and is a great day for photography.

Low flying military aircraft. You will find maps if you search “mach loop LAF7”. Best place for a start is cad West.  Head for cross foxes hotel  LL40 2SG turn right first lay by is cad West. It's a hard walk following the path the jets come from Bala  It’s Monday to Friday from about 8.00am . Nothing is guaranteed, you will sometimes get a  blank day or just one aircraft.  You will see timetables, they are rubbish and do not work, but look at the websites. Cad West is best place for starters, but is now bad under foot and not for the faint Hearted. You will  need a 300 mm lens as minimum some use more SLR is best with a view finder . Hope that helps Chris Whitehead.
